Job Description
Accountable for one or more medium-sized projects of moderate complexity with a medium-sized team. Focuses on creating the project vision and planning documents and managing the implementation, reporting, and performance of the overall project to deliver on time, within budget, and to scope.
Responsibilities
- Product Planning: Produce plans for Program Increments (PIs) within an overall product roadmap, ensuring all activities are identified, organized, and compliant with the organization's product management framework.
- Product and PI Scope Definition: Manage user research, discovery workshops, and activities to specify and agree on product features and deliverables.
- Stakeholder Management: Plan and execute stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective relationships and meet stakeholder needs and market requirements.
- Requirements Management: Coordinate the elicitation and analysis of user stories and product requirements, document and manage requirements throughout the product lifecycle, and verify feature delivery.
- Product Risk and Issue Management: Identify, evaluate, and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints; develop and implement solutions as needed.
- Product Reporting and Review: Draft review reports and presentations with metrics, commentary, and recommendations to support stakeholder evaluations and product adjustments.
- Product Team Management: Support a small product team, communicate outcomes, coordinate actions, request support, and foster team capability through training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Continuous Improvement: Review existing operations and generate ideas for ongoing product development improvements.
- Product Resource Management: Manage deployment of resources, control costs, provide forecasts, and ensure effective utilization.
- Feature Scheduling and Allocation: Assign user stories and features to sprints and PIs to meet expectations and adhere to release timelines.
- Documentation Preparation: Prepare product documentation and gather data for metrics reports.
- Manage Acceptance Criteria: Draft documentation and user guides, contribute to post-release reviews, and identify lessons learned.
- Product Assurance: Conduct quality reviews, facilitate independent assurance, and resolve issues to ensure confidence in delivery.
- Personal Capability Building: Participate in development activities, maintain relevant certifications, and stay informed on technology and industry trends.
Education
Degree or equivalent/diploma at NQF Level 7 or higher.
