We are looking for an ESL teacher who will also be responsible for teaching our Cambridge exam preparation classes. Our Academic team will support you and provide feedback and training to help you quickly feel at ease with your new work environment and the EF teaching methodology. Post-probation and with more work experience, there are a wide range of professional development options and career pathways at EF that may arise – on local, national, or international levels, not limited to teaching.

Role & responsibilities
- Teach scheduled teaching hours for general classes
- Teach Cambridge exam preparation classes when required
- Complete all admin related to Cambridge classes (e.g., marking students' homework and providing feedback)
- Provide high-quality classes using our Efekta blended learning programme
- Prepare materials and resources relevant to your classes, including a comprehensive syllabus for special interest classes, handouts, quizzes, tests, and assignments as needed for each course
- Complete all required administration to a high standard and in a timely manner
- Help students with queries and communicate with the appropriate department
- Actively participate in teacher meetings and all staff development activities
- Participate in observations, feedback sessions, training, and informational meetings
- Develop and use supplementary material within EF guidelines to support learning objectives
- Liaise, support, and collaborate with staff providing study feedback and support to students
- Customer orientation, organization, and planning skills, effective communication, relationship building, creativity, flexibility, passion, professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork, and cultural diversity competencies
Requirements
- South African ID holder or permanent resident
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Cambridge exam skill set and qualification / course completion
- 120-hour TEFL Certificate with 1-3 years of teaching experience; CELTA / CertTESOL preferred
