Job description

Key Responsibilities :

Financial

  1. Full financial function of multiple statutory entities
  2. Preparation of consolidated Management Accounts in line with the deadlines on the financial calendar (accurate and in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements)
  3. Cashflow reporting and forecasting
  4. Preparation of consolidated Statement of Financial Position with its various audit files
  5. Ensure accuracy of journal capturing
  6. Update income tax and deferred tax calculation
  7. Managing accuracy of fixed asset register on a rolling basis
  8. Collation of various financial reports to be used in Financial Management of the business
  9. Monthly reporting to executive committee
  10. Analysing financial results of individual business units / cost centres against budgeted figures. Investigation and corroboration of variances
  11. Reconciliation & submission of VAT and PAYE returns
  12. Liaising with SARS / tax practitioner on all tax related issues
  13. Responsible for year-end audit by External Auditors
  14. Responsible for Creditors reconciliations and payments
  15. Review and approval of all payments
  16. Reviewing of Cash cycle & Bank recons
  17. Liaising with Bank on financing and banking related issues
  18. Liaising with Franchisor
  19. Coordination and planning of the annual budget process
  20. Ad hoc tasks to be received from CFO
People
  • Managing team of >

10 accountants

  • Managing three member Creditors Team
  • Managing reporting deadlines
  • Providing leadership and structure
  • Coaching and mentoring the team as well as the individual personnel
  • Performance evaluation and management of finance team members
Qualifications :
  • Minimum B Comm degree or equivalent
  • Completed Articles (SAICA / SAIPA)
  • Technical accounting knowledge (IFRS)
  • GAAP experience advantageous
  • Experience working with Evolution and / or other accounting package
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
