Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the laying, cutting, stamping, and sorting of outwork on a large scale for multiple production lines.
- Oversee a department with a staff compliment of over 100 employees.
- Plan, organize, lead, and control assets and staff effectively.
- Manage the constant flow of fabric to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure Caledon factory production lines are fed timely with the correct components.
- Manage automated and manual cutting technology.
- Plan the Cutting Room workflow on a daily, bi-weekly, and 2-month basis.
- Review continuous assessments related to cost reduction initiatives, such as waste management.
- Ensure quality standards are met according to Standard Order of Process.
- Optimize fabric utilization.
- Review and approve job reconciliations.
- Maintain reject, rework, and recut rates.
- Maintain employee relations and ensure discipline according to TFG policies.
- Report daily absence counts to the Caledon HR Department.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Implement individual development plans and identify training needs.
- Attend and coordinate daily Cutting Room team meetings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of clothing manufacturing experience (Essential).
- Grade 12 qualification.
- National Diploma or Degree in Fabric Technology or similar (Advantageous).
- Experience with StyleMan and FastReact (Advantageous).
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Management experience (Essential).
- Experience in cost management.
- Knowledge and experience in waste management.
