Job description

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Accountable for the laying, cutting, stamping, and sorting of outwork on a large scale for multiple production lines.
  2. Oversee a department with a staff compliment of over 100 employees.
  3. Plan, organize, lead, and control assets and staff effectively.
  4. Manage the constant flow of fabric to ensure smooth operations.
  5. Ensure Caledon factory production lines are fed timely with the correct components.
  6. Manage automated and manual cutting technology.
  7. Plan the Cutting Room workflow on a daily, bi-weekly, and 2-month basis.
  8. Review continuous assessments related to cost reduction initiatives, such as waste management.
  9. Ensure quality standards are met according to Standard Order of Process.
  10. Optimize fabric utilization.
  11. Review and approve job reconciliations.
  12. Maintain reject, rework, and recut rates.
  13. Maintain employee relations and ensure discipline according to TFG policies.
  14. Report daily absence counts to the Caledon HR Department.
  15. Maintain good housekeeping standards.
  16. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  17. Implement individual development plans and identify training needs.
  18. Attend and coordinate daily Cutting Room team meetings.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. 5+ years of clothing manufacturing experience (Essential).
  2. Grade 12 qualification.
  3. National Diploma or Degree in Fabric Technology or similar (Advantageous).
  4. Experience with StyleMan and FastReact (Advantageous).
Skills:
  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  2. Management experience (Essential).
  3. Experience in cost management.
  4. Knowledge and experience in waste management.
