Vacancy: Senior Warehouse Supervisor – Durban, KZN
One of our Clients, a leader in the Retail Industry, is seeking to appoint a committed, suitably qualified, and experienced individual to fill the position of Senior Warehouse Supervisor. The successful candidate will be based in the Mobeni, Durban warehouse.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assisting in the overall running of the warehouse.
- Opening and closing of the warehouse.
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in and around the warehouse.
- Receiving and processing returned stock.
- Responsible for accurate dispatching and receiving of stock.
- Conducting cycle counts and stock-take.
- Responsible for stock control and stock transfers.
- Responsible for checking and packing orders.
- Monitoring and controlling the distribution process.
- Generating Standard Operating Procedures for the Warehouse.
- Scheduling delivery of orders.
- Ensuring Health and Safety regulations.
- Supervise the team to achieve work unit objectives.
- Plan the allocation of labour within the area of responsibility.
- Ensure discipline is maintained in the department.
- Monitor and control current warehouse management systems.
- Control daily operations.
- Weekly cycle counts and feedback.
- Manage monthly inventory counts and report on results.
- Identify opportunities for process and or system improvements.
- Ensure implementation and compliance of Logistics Policies and Procedures.
- Operate according to Standard Operating Procedures and within the parameters of applicable legislation.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Twelve).
- Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good numeric and literacy skills.
- Minimum of 3 (Three) years of warehouse supervision and stock controlling experience.
- Minimum of 3 (Three) years staff supervision experience.
- Must have operational and business administration skills.
- Must have organizational, planning, and office management skills.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to lead and manage a team.
- Must be customer- and service-oriented.
- Must be able to solve problems independently.
