Education, experience, and competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Trade (Red Seal)
- 3-5 years of experience as a technician in the mining industry
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in relevant software and project management tools
- Own transportation, valid driver's license, and willingness to travel to remote mining sites
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate on-site team activities
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems in mining operations
- Conduct site and system surveys for installation and quoting, ensuring standards and timelines are met
- Ensure proper placement and wiring of equipment, complying with electrical and mechanical standards
- Optimize equipment placement for better coverage and safety
- Perform site visits to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly
- Supervise team testing, fault analysis, and adherence to installation manuals
- Order parts and repairs promptly; document failures and improvements for management
- Prepare reports for audits, maintain administrative records (service reports, timesheets, COCs)
- Enforce safety regulations and conduct regular inspections to ensure a safe work environment
- Coordinate project planning, scheduling, and budgeting with management
- Maintain accurate site activity records and equipment logs
- Troubleshoot electronic system issues and provide training to personnel
- Allocate resources efficiently and evaluate team performance for continuous improvement
- Participate in meetings and update management on project status and issues
