Role Overview

This role supports the BMS Manager in maintaining and improving the Turner & Townsend Business Management System (BMS), including Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental Systems, Compliance, Risk & Assurance, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, external accreditation (ISO standards), and internal processes.

Job Objectives

This position offers a blend of formal learning and practical experience to develop core skills for career progression in consulting or internal SHEQ system implementation.

You will work within a high-performing team, responsible for ensuring our Business Management Systems support our service excellence and client impact. We seek confident, communicative, analytical, driven individuals passionate about quality and Business Management Systems to:

  • Ensure compliance with Key Performance Indicators, Objectives, and Targets, including regular monitoring and reporting
  • Coordinate timely delivery of BMS-related projects and activities
  • Provide BMS support and advice to internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate BMS activities across the organization, including support for Africa offices
Responsibilities
  • Schedule and prepare Commission Management, Risk & Governance training
  • Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Assist in conducting internal audits as Management Representative
  • Record and distribute BMS meeting minutes
  • Extract and distribute system status reports, including follow-ups
  • Monitor and report on unsigned contracts and mitigation trackers
  • Update policies and processes
  • Follow up on overdue mandatory training
  • Ensure SHEQ databases are updated with accurate KPIs
Minimum Qualifications
  • Grade 12 and a Higher Certificate (preferably NQF6) in Health, Safety and Environmental Management, Business Administration / Management, or Project Management Administration
  • ISO, & / or implementation / auditing certification (advantageous)
  • No prior experience required; 1-2 years in Construction, Engineering, or Project Management is beneficial
  • Ability to identify issues and develop solutions for continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-driven, deadline-oriented, capable of multitasking under pressure
  • Attention to detail and proactive follow-up
