Are you a dynamic, results-driven sales professional with a passion for the mining and heavy equipment industry? We're looking for a Technical Sales Representative to help us grow our mining parts business globally.
In this role, you'll take ownership of generating leads, building strong customer relationships, and helping clients find exactly the parts they need — when they need them.
If you're self-motivated, proactive, and ready to make a real impact, we want to hear from you!
What We're Looking For :
- 2–5 years of proven success in heavy equipment parts and/or machinery sales.
- Strong experience in lead generation, customer acquisition, and business development — you must be able to actively find, secure, and retain customers.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a strong advantage for regional growth.
- Solid technical knowledge of equipment parts and components for brands like CAT, Komatsu, Epiroc, and Elphinstone.
Key Skills You'll Need :
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and thrive under pressure.
- A passion for industry trends, new technologies, and product launches.
- Comfortable using CRM systems, Google Sheets, and quoting software (training provided).
- Experience working within or selling to the mining industry in Africa or emerging markets.
- Familiarity with mining operations, equipment lifecycle, and procurement processes.
- Ability to interpret equipment manuals, part schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Willingness to travel internationally or to remote mining sites when required.
- Basic understanding of import/export logistics and international shipping terms (e.g., Incoterms).
Your Responsibilities :
- Actively generate leads and connect with mining companies, contractors, and procurement teams worldwide.
- Work with logistics and sourcing teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and interactions in the CRM.
- Provide technical support, troubleshoot part compatibility, and suggest alternatives.
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and market insights for strategic planning.
- Attend industry events as a brand ambassador.
- Collaborate with marketing to address customer pain points and opportunities.
- Drive the full sales cycle — from prospecting to closing and managing accounts.
- Understand client needs and recommend suitable parts and solutions.
- Deliver exceptional service to key accounts and foster long-term partnerships.
- Represent our brand professionally with technical expertise and a solution-oriented mindset.
Working Hours :
This role is based in South Africa, but due to the global nature of interactions, flexibility is required, including early mornings or late evenings based on time zones.
