We seek to appoint a lecturer specializing in Film & TV, Digital Film, to teach at higher certificate, degree, and possibly postgraduate levels. The department covers subjects like Film & TV, Production Design, Screen Acting, Screenwriting, and Sound Design.
The candidate should foster meaningful learning, mentorship, and industry engagement. Responsibilities include:
Applicants should have broad knowledge of filmmaking equipment, digital workflows, practical filming and editing skills, and a strong understanding of cinema history and current trends. Enthusiasm and visual sensibility are essential, along with good interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) or higher in Film & Television or similar, with a portfolio of work. Preference for candidates with MA degrees, industry experience, and teaching experience at tertiary level. Additional skills in related disciplines are advantageous.
This is a permanent position, adjusted to 60% of full-time hours (around 3 days/week), with salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Starting date: June.
