Job Purpose

The HR Consultant will be responsible for the implementation of all HR processes, projects, and activities throughout the employee lifecycle at a business unit level. This includes providing sound advice and ensuring the seamless and consistent delivery of services to line management and employees in line with company procedures and compliance standards.

This role involves managing the HR Information Management System and data integrity, recruitment and selection processes, governance, project and change management, reporting, employee relations practices, policy consultation, talent and learning initiatives, and performance consulting, all in accordance with legislation and Sun International standards.

Key Performance Areas

Duties and responsibilities include :

  1. Delivery of HR Operational Services
  2. Implementing the people strategy to support business operations
  3. Partnering with management to address performance, productivity, and other people challenges; diagnosing issues and providing solutions
  4. Facilitating recruitment, selection, assessment, onboarding, and relocation processes
  5. Explaining payroll and benefits queries and resolving disputes
  6. Addressing employee relations issues, including grievances and disciplinary actions
  7. Engaging proactively with stakeholders and communicating operational changes and challenges
  8. Promoting Sun Way Culture and employee engagement projects

HR Data Integrity & Reporting

  1. Updating HR System with operational and personal data changes
  2. Ensuring data accuracy and completeness
  3. Preparing audit documentation and implementing remedial actions
  4. Tracking leave liabilities and sick leave balances
  5. Monitoring and reporting on HR analytics and employment statistics

Performance Consulting

  1. Facilitating performance management processes
  2. Analyzing performance data to identify gaps and opportunities
  3. Recommending improvements and facilitating learning solutions
  4. Supporting change management initiatives

HR Governance

  1. Adhering to HR SOPs and acting as a process custodian
  2. Monitoring compliance with legislation and internal policies
  3. Escalating concerns appropriately

HR Project Implementation

  1. Understanding project objectives and deadlines
  2. Coordinating and executing HR projects
  3. Communicating with stakeholders and providing progress reports
  4. Supporting change communication activities

Learning & Development Administration

  1. Managing training records and skills development data
  2. Supporting onboarding and compliance programs
  3. Coordinating logistics for learning events and audits

Stakeholder Engagement

  1. Responding to HR-related queries
  2. Maintaining relationships with HR stakeholders and partners
  3. Staying informed of HR policies and legislation

Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12
  • B. Degree in Human Resources Management

Experience
