Job description

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Field Sales Representative / New Business Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth through face-to-face interactions and strategic prospecting. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for sales, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

This is a field-based role requiring regular travel to engage potential clients, present solutions, and close deals.

What you'll do :

  1. Conduct sales calls (cold calling) to generate new business and upsell to existing customers
  2. Actively hunt for new customers
  3. Hold face-to-face meetings with prospective and existing clients
  4. Identify sales opportunities and provide tailored solutions
  5. Schedule and perform product demonstrations
  6. Keep clients informed of current equipment and solutions suitable for their operations
  7. Manage day-to-day client relationships and ensure their needs are met
  8. Handle all client communications effectively, setting and exceeding expectations
  9. Improve client satisfaction and expand relationships
  10. Prepare accurate proposals, quotes, estimates, and project timelines for approval
  11. Collaborate with the installation team to understand client briefs and ensure successful delivery
  12. Attend to client quote requests via email and phone
  13. Create and maintain relationships with suppliers
  14. Negotiate with suppliers on pricing and delivery
  15. Monitor industry trends and client needs to identify gaps and opportunities
  16. Generate and submit sales reports to management

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

Must have :

  • Proven sales track record in Infrastructure and Hardware
  • Experience in hunting for new business and recognizing project opportunities
  • Solutions sold include Infrastructure and Hardware (Fibre, Cabling, Access Points, Printers, Barcode Scanners)
  • Experience handling large deals (at least R 300,000, R 500,000 and above)
  • Knowledge of the Auto ID mobility industry
  • Ability to sell solutions and understand operational needs
  • Understanding of network points, cabling, and fibre installations

  • Maintain a dynamic and confident personality with excellent stakeholder and CEO level communication skills
  • Be well presented, proactive, energetic, and charismatic
  • Identify new business opportunities and build relationships
  • Work well under pressure to meet targets

Qualifications required :
