Job Title : Business Development Lead

Budget : R per annum

Overview

A leading payment aggregator and provider of secure payment solutions is looking for a Business Development Lead: High Volume & Strategic Bill Issuers to join their growing team.

The main purpose of the role is to take responsibility for growth in transaction volumes through servicing existing billers effectively and onboarding new high-volume potential billers. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and proactive self-starter, capable of switching between high-level strategy and detailed work. They should be disciplined and tenacious, seeing opportunities through to completion.

Responsibilities
  1. Grow transaction volumes through servicing of billers under management.
  2. Source and onboard new billers.
  3. Increase transaction volumes via retailer and digital payment networks.
  4. Establish trusted advisor relationships with key (existing and prospective) biller stakeholders.
  5. Identify and develop strategic partnerships such as banks and referral partners.
  6. Explore innovative solutions and collaborate across departments to facilitate growth.
  7. Act as the primary interface between billers/prospects and internal teams.
  8. Maintain the client's marketing presence in collaboration with the marketing team.
  9. Coordinate internally to ensure smooth operations related to billers.
  10. Track and report on business opportunities, sales analysis, forecasts, solutions, and queries.
Minimum Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 5-8 years of similar experience in the payments/financial industry, with demonstrable sales and enterprise-level client relationship management experience.
  • Strong understanding of the payments environment (retailers, digital, banking, card schemes, EFT, settlement, acquiring, etc.) is crucial.
  • Valid driver's license, own transport, and ability to travel frequently.
  • Fluent in business English; additional languages are advantageous.
