PURPOSE

EO Cape Town, the local chapter of the global Entrepreneurs’ Organisation is looking for an Assistant Operations Manager: Events Coordination & Administration(Official Title: Assistant Chapter Manager) to help deliver exceptional events, energise our member community, and keep day-to-day operations on track.

This is a unique opportunity to gain inside access to a global leadership network and build lasting relationships with some of South Africa’s most dynamic business founders, all while working on something meaningful, ambitious, and full of momentum.

MAIN OUTCOMES

The successful candidate will support the Chapter Manager and Board to:

  • Execute high-quality events that inspire and connect
  • Strengthen chapter communication and engagement
  • Ensure administrative and operational excellence
  • Represent EO values and enhance our chapter culture

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and manage all chapter events — from RSVPs and logistics to vendor liaison and post-event follow-up
  • Keep our event calendar accurate and up to date
  • Own member communications: newsletters, event invites, and social media content using EO templates and tools like Canva
  • Provide administrative support to the Chapter Manager and Board (prep, minutes, follow-ups)
  • Maintain accurate member records
  • Assist with basic financial tasks such as processing invoices and coordinating with vendors
  • Champion EO’s values, fostering a collaborative, respectful, and entrepreneurial culture.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2–5 years of experience in events, communications, admin, or coordination roles
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • A strong communicator — clear, professional, and engaging
  • Friendly, dependable, and excited to engage with South Africa’s top entrepreneurs
  • You have a matric or relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous), valid driver’s licence, your own transport, and flexibility for occasional after-hours events
  • You’re comfortable with tools like Google Drive, Canva, Zoom, Trello, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, Xero, MS Office, and ZOHO
  • Bonus points if you’ve worked in a membership-based or founder-driven organisation
