Statement of the Job

Under the overall supervision of the Executive Director and the Community Programs Director, and under the direct supervision of the White County Community Services Coordinator, the Community Services Assistant serves as an advocate on behalf of clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  1. Serve as a member of the Administrative Office Team and the Community Programs Team in overall coordination and planning for agency programs.
  2. Assist the Community Services Coordinator in promoting skills and capabilities of clients utilizing existing services and community resources.
  3. Responsible for knowing and staying updated on policies and procedures of the agency and all funding sources for assigned programs.
  4. Implement and execute job duties professionally within guidelines and instructions according to the funding source.
  5. Assist with the delivery of services to eligible clients through various programs such as Li-HEAP, ESG, IDA, TEFAP, CAPCA's Food Pantry, CSBG-Top, Employment Assistance, and other case management and community service programs.
  6. Review client applications to determine eligibility and ensure client eligibility aligns with funding source and agency requirements.
  7. Complete requisitions for services, ensuring costs are allowable and reasonable, and submit for approval.
  8. Maintain compliance of records and documentation in client files per policies, procedures, and regulations.
  9. Perform data entry and clerical duties, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across systems.
  10. Participate in community service organizations for networking, referrals, and training sharing.
  11. Promote a positive public image through social media and public appearances.
  12. Assist in coordinating other agency programs as needed and participate in ROMA implementation.
  13. Collect, analyze, and compile data related to community needs assessments.
  14. Attend team meetings and safeguard confidential information.
  15. Assist in ensuring compliance and preventing fraud within the agency.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Respect confidentiality, participate in training, handle stress, administer first aid if needed, and perform other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :
  • Educational Requirements: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience Requirements: One year of related experience preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Good physical condition, valid driver's license, willingness to travel, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Skill Requirements: Reading, writing, math, communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, confidentiality, independence, and public relations.

Work schedule is full-time, Mon.-Thurs., with hours from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Compensation is $13.00/hour, with employer-paid benefits including holidays, leave, insurance, and more.
