POD Clerk

Business Overview

This is a busy, fast-paced operation offering many challenges and opportunities for the right person. This position is based at DSC Kempton Park.

Role Outline

Effective control of stock integrity through daily stock counts. Manage and control duties to meet performance levels and contribute to continuous improvement of the inventory process. Coordinate functions to maximize utilization, productivity, and customer service. Ensure service delivery is on time and in full, accurately. Maintain the highest customer service standards and minimize losses. Adhere to inventory processes and ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Legal, and Security requirements. Follow SOPs for goods receiving and KPI measures. Perform administrative tasks aligned with operational needs, promoting DHL as a great place to work.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Reporting accurate and timely information to management.
  • Building relationships across the supply chain, including dispatch clerks, haulers, depots, and customer service.
  • Reporting and recording non-conformities regarding customer requirements.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as processing documents, scanning PODs, and managing filing procedures.
  • Handling customer requests for PODs within 24 hours and ensuring accuracy.
  • Processing and scanning C&R linehaul PODs at debrief.
  • Supporting line managers in tracking Oculus scans across the network.
  • Sending weekly reports on outstanding PODs.
  • Following up on overdue PODs bi-weekly to mitigate financial risks.
  • Assisting other sites as needed, especially in Gauteng.
  • Investigating PODs and verifying correct scanning and indexing.

Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 / Matric – Essential

Tertiary qualification – Advantageous

3-4 years of administration experience
