Job description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Processing of monthly sales, purchases, stock write-offs, coupons, and other relevant data from point-of-sale system to accounting system.
2. Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts and preparation and maintenance of Balance Sheet recons.
3. Review of Income Statement Accounts.
4. Processing of local and international ad-hoc payments as required.
5. Preparation and balancing of any intercompany loan balances prior to monthly management review meetings.
6. Preparing retail VAT submissions every month.
7. Engaging with the Finance Manager regarding review of income and balance sheet accounts.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• An Accounting Degree or Diploma - preferably SAIPA.
• 3-4 years' experience in a finance or accounting position.
• Advanced Excel skills are critical, with a willingness to learn quickly in this area.
• Knowledge of Pastel will be an advantage.
• Ability to solve problems, multi-task, and take ownership, provide direction, and make decisions are critical.
• Knowledge of fundamental finance, accounting, and cost control principles with a solid bookkeeping background is essential.
• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Additional Notes:

This role involves replacing someone immigrating to the Netherlands. The person will oversee juniors, handle some processing and journal entries, along with other responsibilities.
