Finance Manager

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of a FINANCE MANAGER.
As a senior manager in finance, the role will support the Deputy CFO in the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the organisation, specifically on the APACE project. The responsibilities include managing daily operations, reporting accurate financial results, and implementing financial procedures to improve or maintain the financial health of the organisation, ensuring efficient functioning and delivery of all finance aspects on the APACE project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
- Manage daily functions to ensure the financial infrastructure is stable and supports the organisation's future demands.
- Verify the accuracy and quality of all financial information, ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards and generally accepted accounting practices.
- Implement performance measures and monitoring systems aligned with the organisation's strategic goals.
- Maintain high standards of financial integrity in reporting, monitoring, and record-keeping systems.
- Ensure policies and procedures are aligned with industry best practices.
- Implement core cost structures and recovery bases monthly for the project.
- Monitor cash flow, track cash balances, and forecasts.
- Review creditor reconciliations monthly and oversee EFT payments and supporting documentation.
- Oversee issuance of financial information and promote efficient management of financial resources.
- Review financial policies and systems for continuous improvement.
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate financial data to support decision-making.
- Monitor budget expenditure and ensure alignment with organizational requirements.
- Prepare robust budgets and various reports for compliance and ad-hoc requests.
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure vendor registration compliance.
People Management
- Manage staff in accordance with policies and standards.
- Partner with HR for recruitment, induction, performance reviews, and staff development.
- Mentor and support staff through regular meetings.
Stakeholder Management
- Develop relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and stakeholders.
- Manage vendor relationships to meet organisational needs.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring proper record-keeping for audits and compliance.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Minimum Qualification: Compt / BCom Hons
- 8-10 years' experience in financial management, with supervisory roles.
- Knowledge of financial policies, IFRS, ERP systems.
- Desirable: CA or BPT / BCom Hons with articles, knowledge of donor grants, non-profit sector.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- Strategic thinking, analytical skills, problem-solving, and purposefulness.
- Technical skills: MS Office (Excel), GAAP.
Remuneration
Package will be based on qualifications, experience, and previous earnings.
