Job description

A new vacancy has opened for a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Controller (Electrical & Instrumentation) to join a dynamic project team. This role involves overseeing quality compliance across multiple installation sites and ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation work aligns with national standards and internal specifications.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Red Seal Electrician with at least 5 years of installation experience
• Minimum of 3 years in a Quality Control role within EC&I construction or commissioning environments
• Knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and EC&I installation standards
• Strong understanding of instrumentation loop checks and cable schedules
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and digital file management
• Installation Electrician registration (advantageous)
• Own transport is required for commuting to and from the office; a company vehicle will be provided for site travel during working hours
• Valid driver’s licence essential

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct tray work routing and bonding inspections, and sign off installations
• Inspect cable strapping for spacing, neatness, and UV suitability
• Verify gland sizing, selection, and proper installation
• Perform visual inspections on all electrical and instrumentation terminations
• Execute QC testing (continuity, insulation resistance, torque checks) and coordinate final sign-offs
• Maintain and archive QC documentation on the project server
• Capture, catalogue, and store all site progress and as-built photos
• Ensure up-to-date redline drawings are maintained and saved
• Participate in site QC walkdowns and inspections
• Coordinate punch list close-outs with supervisors
• Support in preparing handover packs and data books
• Attend project site meetings and provide QC representation
• Ensure compliance with SANS standards and internal installation protocols
