Location: Newhill Primary School, Blairgowrie Community Campus
Are you an enthusiastic and inspiring leader with the skills, confidence, and energy to make a positive impact on the lives of our children? An exciting opportunity has arisen in Blairgowrie, a large town situated sixteen miles north of Perth and nineteen miles north-west of Dundee.
Applications are invited for the post of Head Teacher & Campus Leader at Newhill Primary School, Blairgowrie Community Campus. The Head Teacher will provide vision and direction to ensure high standards of education and leadership of learning.
We are seeking someone who can lead our school community, develop learning and teaching, and ensure all pupils achieve their full potential. Ideally, you will have experience in a senior leadership role with a full understanding of leading improvement across a school.
You should be able to discuss your leadership skills and the impact of improvement activities on learner outcomes.
You should have experience of leading a team.
This could include leading a working group or staff team to drive improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of our larger urban schools.
Newhill currently has fifteen classes and a large Nursery.
This post is supported by an experienced school leadership team including three Depute Head Teachers and a Principal Early Childhood Practitioner.
You will also be supported by your QIO, linked with a peer Head Teacher as your Critical Colleague, and have access to a Head Teacher induction programme, the Leading Change Programme.

GTCS registration is required. The Head Teachers Education and Training (Scotland) Regulations state that candidates appointed to their first permanent Head Teacher post from 1 August must have attained the Standard for Headship. If not, appointment can be on a fixed-term basis for up to 30 months, but the council supports candidates in gaining this qualification.
Final employment is subject to pre-employment checks, including references, qualifications, and fitness to undertake the role.
