Job description

The Role : You will be part of the Fuels and Refining leadership team and will lead our Africafocused research. Your primary objectives will be to 1) provide thought leadership to establish S&P Global Commodity Insights as the industryleading authority on African downstream 2) develop an exceptional team of analysts and 3) to support our Commercial activity in the region to significantly grow our business in Africa.

The Team : Within the Fuels and Refining team we provide insight on the industry and market fundamentals of refining crude oil and marketing refined productsincluding supply / demand balances trade prices capacities and infrastructure. We forecast product balances and benchmark prices and refining margins provide details for national markets around the world as well as guidance on what is an anomaly and what is a fundamental shift in the market.

The Impact : S&P Global Commodity Insights provides data strategic research and analysis across the oil downstream value chain so our clients can make critical decisions with confidence. Energy players governments and financial institutions rely on us to better understand market trends company and economic behavior to adjust their business strategy and policies.

What Were Looking For : A highly motivated individual with deep experience in African downstream who is willing to challenge the status quo to enhance our research and grow our business.

Qualifications and skills required :

At least 10 years of relevant experience in African downstream oil.

An extensive regional network.

Ability to develop and clearly articulate complex messages in writing and orally.

Desire to deliver excellent research and be held accountable for results.

Proven ability to collaborate across teams and functions to achieve shared objectives.

Fluency in English and French.
