Job description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate must be able to manage bookkeeping up to trial balance level and handle multiple clients efficiently.

This role requires expertise in VAT returns, Payroll processing, EMP201 & EMP501 submissions, as well as maintaining WCA and UIF compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Maintaining accurate financial records and processing transactions up to trial balance.
  2. Preparing and submitting VAT returns, EMP201 and EMP501 returns.
  3. Processing payroll and ensuring compliance with UIF and WCA requirements.
  4. Maintaining an up-to-date asset register.
  5. Working with multiple accounting software platforms including but not limited to: Xero, Pastel, Sage Online, QuickBooks Online, Zoho, Pastel Payroll, and Excel.
  6. Handling multiple client accounts efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  7. Communicating professionally with clients, providing clear and timely updates.

Skills and Requirements:

  1. Fully computer literate with experience in various accounting software.
  2. Strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance.
  3. Minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience.
  4. Matric qualification.
  5. Relevant certificate or diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance.
  6. Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.
  7. Strong time management skills in a professional services environment.
