Duties & Responsibilities
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Maintenance and Repairs
- Thorough understanding of self-contained air-conditioning systems and their method of operation.
- Thorough understanding of ventilation systems and their methods of operation.
- Thorough understanding of air handling systems supplied by chilled water and their methods of operation.
- Close liaison with Helpdesk Personnel to ensure calls are restored within the required time.
- Ensure all air conditioning equipment within the hospital is installed and maintained in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Evaluate and improve maintenance activities for refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
- Apply Best Operating Practice during maintenance tasks and repairs.
- Undertake planned maintenance tasks as allocated by Helpdesk, Foreman, or Technical Services Manager.
- Assist in developing maintenance strategies and ensure scheduled maintenance is performed correctly.
- Identify repetitive failures, determine root causes, develop strategies, and implement them with approval.
- Perform reactive maintenance tasks and repairs as allocated.
- Leave work areas clean and tidy after completion.
- Maintain policies and procedures manual related to maintenance tasks at Ialch.
- Coordinate maintenance teams and planned activities for the IALCH contract.
- Manage staff and administration of the Refrigeration Department.
- Maintain and act on all PPM schedules.
- Manage safe work practices in conjunction with OHS standards.
Procurement
- Identify critical spare parts and costs to be held on site.
- Foster good relationships with outside contractors and monitor service quality, delivery, and costs.
- Assist in managing ad hoc maintenance/technical projects for the client.
- Ensure PPM tasks are completed within the required timeframe using the ONKEY SYSTEM.
- Keep PPM tasks relevant and up to date for all equipment.
Planned Maintenance Schedules and Document Library
- Ensure manuals for new equipment are stored in the document library and updated as needed.
- Keep “As built drawings” current in both electronic and hard copies.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, Output Specifications, and contractual obligations.
- Communicate and liaise with site management and subcontractors regarding responsibilities.
Legal Requirements
- Collaborate on Policies & Procedures with clients, TFS management, and relevant safety and QA managers.
- Implement policies, procedures, and systems accordingly.
- Perform duties as directed by TFS Technical management.
- Comply with ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS45001 standards and requirements.
ISO Accreditation
- Maintain cleanliness and security of workshops and plant rooms.
- Ensure staff attire is neat and PPE is used correctly.
- Work safely at all times.
General
- The Foreman is responsible for staff safety.
- Report safety hazards promptly.
- Carry out reasonable requests from Technical Managers.
- Standby duties and after-hours site presence may be required.

Qualifications
- Trade Tested Refrigeration Artisan (Industrial).
- Experience in air-conditioning installation, maintenance, and operation.
- 3-5 years experience with air handling units and self-contained air conditioning systems.
