Job Description: Project Safety Engineer

My client, based in the Germiston area, is seeking an experienced Project Safety Engineer.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
• PMP or similar Project Management certification
• GCC or registered as a PrEng / PrTech
• Working knowledge of Early Equipment Management processes through TPM / WCM

Functional Skills

• Excellent written and spoken English skills
• Working knowledge of SAP and MS Office
• Ability to prepare and communicate financial information for business justification

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years in an industrial Project Management role
• Technical knowledge of machine operations, electrical requirements, and design thinking
• Experience managing machine safety protocols per OSHA and South African standards
• Proven track record in overseeing Machine Safety and LOTOTO projects
• Ability to conduct risk assessments, site audits, and inspections
• Experience monitoring and controlling project KPIs

This role is critical in ensuring personnel and equipment safety by maintaining compliance with safety standards and regulations.

The successful candidate will support the company's safety, excellence, and risk management initiatives.

Some national and international travel may be required.
