Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality: To implement, maintain, and further develop a Minerals Trade Quality Management System that integrates all SA businesses and branches, including existing certified QA systems (ISO, etc.).

Operational Integrity: To implement, maintain, and continuously improve all HSE-related areas, ensuring legal compliance, client requirements, and OI management system adherence at the responsible site.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure company and group policies are implemented in the Minerals Trade department, achieving work objectives.
  2. Streamline and optimize existing quality systems and integrate non-included businesses/branches.
  3. Ensure the company's Quality Management Programme is implemented and maintained.
  4. Manage client satisfaction by meeting external and internal customer expectations regarding service, quality, and turnaround.
  5. Participate in and follow up on Quality Improvement Projects/Programmes.
  6. Conduct Internal Audits within operations and quality systems.
  7. Implement and maintain the business line OI Top page at the responsible site.
  8. Manage HSE-related communication among role players.
  9. Use global assessment tools (Stellar) and inspection processes.
  10. Promote HSE awareness throughout the site.
  11. Report and manage incidents, near misses, hazards, and best practices.
  12. Conduct incident investigations and report findings.
  13. Facilitate Risk Assessments using the Crystal module.
  14. Implement Global OI Initiatives where applicable.
  15. Ensure corrective actions from incidents and audits are implemented.
  16. Perform compliance audits and site visits, providing guidance for improvements.
  17. Assist with audits, client visits, and regulatory inspections.
  18. Conduct inspections and compile reports on HSE matters.
  19. Adhere to safety requirements of the SGS management system.
  20. Support overall OI strategy with additional tasks as assigned.

Specific Authorities:

  • Experience with ISO and establishing quality management systems.
  • Support claim handling, uphold ethics, and promote company integrity.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a business-oriented team.
  • Align work with Natural Resources OI strategy and implement OIMS/IMS and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct incident investigations and support OI activities like Stellar, Safety Month, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate Quality Diploma or relevant qualifications.
  • SAMTRAC / NEBOSH certification (completed or in progress).
  • HSE certification preferred.
  • Experience in SANAS accreditation process.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant HSE management experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
