We are looking for a Java Software Engineer for our Cape Town office with a strong focus on performance, scalability, availability, security, and quality. You will work on products that process thousands of financial transactions per second, which must always be operational (24x7x365), secure (handling sensitive card information), and of high quality (accuracy is critical when dealing with money). Job Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to design, develop, test, and deliver performant and maintainable software solutions.
2. Work as part of a small, agile team.
3. Identify and implement solutions to technical problems.
4. Apply good technical and business judgment, understanding customer usage to inform product requirements, complex design decisions, and trade-offs.
5. Share knowledge by teaching and learning from others.

Job Requirements:

• Higher education (Bachelor's degree) in computer science or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience coding with object-oriented programming languages, primarily Java and Python. Flexibility to learn new languages and tools quickly is valued.
