We’re looking for a Foreman: Electrical who will be responsible for coordinating electrical maintenance programs and related activities, supervising skilled tradespeople, implementing and maintaining electrical maintenance services within established guidelines and standards, and performing skilled electrical maintenance as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing equipment, materials, and labor needed to complete large and complex maintenance tasks to ensure standards are met and resources are used efficiently.
- Collaborating with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to implement and maintain services and programs.
- Coordinating outside contractors to ensure work is completed safely, effectively, and on time, meeting Mill’s standards.
- Supervising maintenance staff in resolving complex electrical issues, ensuring a safe and effective environment.
- Maintaining manual and electronic records for reference and regulatory compliance.
- Ensuring tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained and available for maintenance tasks.
- Performing a variety of skilled electrical maintenance activities to resolve issues and complete projects safely and efficiently.
- Preparing reports and documentation to comply with company and legal requirements.
- Prioritizing and assigning work orders to ensure safety and adherence to budget and guidelines.
- Working standby and overtime as required.
- Participating in personnel management activities, including hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff.
- Ensuring staff are trained in safety regulations and company policies.
- Assessing staff performance and providing coaching and mentorship.
- Monitoring and adjusting employee roles and responsibilities for optimal performance.
- Possessing knowledge of high voltage reticulation equipment operation and maintenance.
- Understanding industrial occupational health and safety legislation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Full N4 Electrical Engineering qualification
- Electrical Trade Test Certificate
- At least 8 years of plant maintenance experience
- Supervisory management qualification (advantageous)
- 2 years supervisory experience (advantageous)
- Proficiency in MS Office; SAP knowledge is a plus
