A leading charity is seeking a Women's Support Worker to provide trauma-informed support to women wishing to exit the sex industry. This role involves frontline work with vulnerable individuals, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting women facing multiple disadvantages.
Women's Support Worker (London, 0.6 FTE)
Location: Tower Hamlets, East London – Office based
Hours of work: 21 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday (including outreach outside of office hours)
Line Manager: Door of Hope Manager
Pension: 5% employer contribution, 3% employee contribution
Contract: Permanent
The Door of Hope Project provides support to women who sell sex in Tower Hamlets, including advocacy, information, emotional, and practical support. It also involves a team of around 15 volunteers delivering street outreach on Thursdays and Fridays.
Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years' experience supporting women in the sex industry. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, training, and produce research-informed resources. We are recruiting a Women's Support Worker to provide holistic, trauma-informed support to women with complex needs who wish to exit the sex industry.
The role involves working within a small team supporting women on-street in East London, requiring frontline experience with vulnerable individuals, preferably within sectors like VAWG, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health, or sex industry support.
Genuine Occupational Requirement: Due to the nature of the role, it is restricted to female applicants under Section 9 of the Equality Act.
