Quality Inspector

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of a Matric qualification with Maths and Science; N3/N6 in Electrical or Chemical Engineering is an advantage.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a quality testing or inspection environment, preferably within a manufacturing or technical setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Battery Testing and Inspection

    • Measure and record Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) of batteries using a voltmeter.

    • Inspect physical condition of battery terminals for damage, corrosion, or wear.

    • Identify and verify engraved codes and labeling on batteries, ensuring conformity to master references.

    • Evaluate battery skewness and label positioning in accordance with quality standards.

  2. Data Handling and Reporting

    • Capture test results and inspection findings accurately in electronic formats.

    • Compile reports and maintain spreadsheets to support data-driven decision-making.

    • Conduct basic data analysis to detect trends or abnormalities in battery quality metrics.

  3. Technical and Physical Requirements

    • Manually handle and lift batteries weighing between 15 to 20 kilograms.

    • Utilize excellent visual acuity and attention to detail to detect minor defects or deviations.

    • Operate basic electronic and testing equipment safely and accurately.

  4. Communication and Collaboration

    • Communicate effectively in English across various levels of the organization.

    • Work closely with quality control teams, supervisors, and technical staff to ensure compliance with standards.
