Job description

Description

A company distributing analytical instruments and reagents is looking for a Sales Professional for their Bioprocessing team portfolio. This individual will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and providing technical sales expertise to support clients in optimizing their bioprocessing workflows. The successful candidate's key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Driving breakthrough sales results;
  2. Actively engaging with local pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and cell culture and protein purification laboratories to boost sales and deliver innovative solutions to customers;
  3. Providing expert advice on company products and services, including single-use bioprocessing equipment, filtration systems, bioreactors, chromatography solutions, and other related technologies;
  4. Taking ownership of your territory (KZN, Free State, and Gauteng, predominantly KZN) and accounts with regular customer visits and active sales calls using company tools to manage and grow your accounts;
  5. Becoming the go-to advisor for customers, answering technical queries, and following up on all quotations and inquiries using Salesforce;
  6. Uncovering new opportunities and cross-department leads that will contribute to the company's growth;
  7. Collaborating with other sales support teams, business partners, and sales management to build strong customer relationships and meet monthly sales targets.

Key Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field. Hands-on experience in bioprocessing, cell culture, protein expression, and purification. Alternatively, experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing at an SAHPRA-licensed facility focused on sterile product manufacturing. At least 2 years of sales experience in the scientific market. Driver's license and own vehicle essential. Valid passport and willingness to travel locally.

Strong interpersonal skills and excellent problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Highly motivated and driven.
