Key Performance Output
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager Airport Security and will be responsible for the following:
- Development and implementation of the Airport Security Plan and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Manage and coordinate overall airport security, including resource allocations, passenger screening, cargo, commercial security, general aviation, and other security-related services.
- Manage staffing capacity and resources to mitigate risks.
- Ensure business continuity during emergencies.
- Develop and implement Cargo and General Aviation Security Plans.
- Ensure stakeholder security plans align with Part 108 requirements.
- Develop Security Strategies and Compliance Plans for General Aviation, Cargo, Mail, and Catering.
- Review and develop HBS Security Plan in accordance with national requirements.
- Provide operational advice regarding HBS, regulations, and infrastructure.
- Lead Business Continuity Management processes and review reports for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, policies, and legislation.
- Investigate and report security incidents and deficiencies, implementing remedial actions.
- Implement crime prevention measures and report criminal activities.
- Contribute to the Airport Security Program.
- Meet ASQ & QMS targets proactively.
- Plan and organize security activities and contingencies.
- Maintain communication with security stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports and approvals.
- Attend management meetings and ensure stakeholder compliance.
- Manage contracts and procurement processes.
- Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide training and capacity building.
- Manage budgets, assets, and projects.
- Coordinate risks, threats, and security technology updates.
- Support HR processes like leave, recruitment, performance, and employee relations.
Technical Skills And Experience
The following skills and experience are required or recommended:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Security or equivalent (NQF Level 7).
- NQF Level 6 Diploma in IATA/ACI (recommended).
- 5 years of relevant operational experience.
- 3 years of management experience.
- PSIRA Grade A (recommended).
- NKP Certification (advantageous).
- National Key Point Authorised Officer (recommended).
- Firearm Competency (advantageous).
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Code 8 Motor Vehicle license.
