Remote Part-time Accounting Administrator

Job Description
Your experience as a detail-oriented Accounting Administrator would be incredibly valued by this marketing consultancy, for approximately 5 hours per week. A creative collective who build purpose-led brands through a blend of niche expertise across strategy, digital and creative. The suitable candidate must be Cape Town based.

You will be expected to support with daily financial and administrative tasks on a continuous basis. The needs are ad-hoc and may evolve.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, reconciling accounts, managing expense reports, and assisting with basic bookkeeping for client projects. Allocating payments where required.

You will be running the Accounting Administrative duties to support the Founder of the marketing/brand consultancy.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is organised, proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage), and able to work independently with accuracy.

  • 4-5 years' proven experience working in Accounting or Senior level Bookkeeping.
  • Accounting - academic background and practical experience with the ability to process transactions and extract at least to Trial Balance stage.
  • Ability and/or experience of drafting Income Statements and Statements of financial position will be considered advantageous.
  • Clear understanding of the double-entry bookkeeping system, with experience in reconciling bank balances, creditors and debtors statements.
  • Understanding and experience of financial reporting periods, the need for journal entries and working with payroll and fixed asset registers.
  • Strong numerical ability.
  • Good command of the English language - verbal and written.
  • Ideally experience in the marketing industry.
  • Computer literate as well as digitally-savvy.

Nice to have: Working experience in the wellness or skincare industry
