Office location: Parramatta or Newcastle preferred; other NSW locations considered upon application.

Salary: relative to experience, ranging from $125,693.00 to $138,510.00.

The role

The Senior Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in enhancing and supporting the organisation's systems. You will be responsible for providing systems administration for the Department's Microsoft Windows Server fleet hosted in AWS, Azure, and on-premise. Your role will involve administering, supporting, maintaining, and monitoring these systems, utilizing your strong Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory knowledge and skills. You will also provide customer-focused support, responding to support requests via ServiceNow.

What you will bring to the role

Key knowledge and experience

  • Proven experience in a similar position, including Microsoft Windows Server administration and customer-focused support. Detailed and current knowledge of Windows Server OS (2012 through 2025) and multi-domain management in a federated environment. Competency with Active Directory and DNS. Experience in maintaining operational security and integrity of these services.
  • Experience using PowerShell for task automation, MECM, and server fleet patching.
  • Highly desirable: understanding of Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Power Platform administration, and M365 suite systems administration.
  • Experience creating and maintaining system and procedure documentation.
  • Experience working autonomously in ICT systems administration and support within large, multifaceted enterprises.
  • Relevant industry certifications or equivalent experience.
