Role Purpose

The Investment Consultant builds passionate, self-starting, energetic, and meaningful partnerships with independent financial advisors (IFAs) and investment professionals.

Product, market, and sales knowledge will distinguish them from their peers.

The SIC / IFA relationship will be strengthened through client engagement, first-class service, in-depth business analysis, and continuous improvement of the IFA's business.

Minimum Requirements
  • Qualifications: 3-year BCom degree in Business Management, Investments (essential). Honours degree (advantage). CFA and/or CFP (advantage).
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in the financial services industry, including investments (essential). Experience with Momentum Investments (advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of the investments and wealth management industry in South Africa and international markets, including Fund Selection, DFM, and Securities.
  • Proven track record in client and/or IFA practice management (advantage).
  • Technologically savvy.

Brand Engagement & Digital Presence
  • Understand target audiences, landscape, competitors, and critical moments of truth.
  • Build deep, lasting relationships with IFAs, transforming non-active supporters into active supporters and ambassadors.
  • Connect with the brand and digital workflows.
  • Drive production, business retention, and growth of assets.
Partnership Enablement & Empowerment
  • Position Momentum as the business partner of choice.
  • Understand how financial planning and advice can help IFAs grow.
  • Provide advice-led coaching and understand the strengths, vulnerabilities, risks, and opportunities within the IFA panel.
Influence & Coaching
  • Position Momentum as a thought leader through 1:1 coaching sessions and regular engagement.
  • Understand regulatory impacts on IFA practices.
  • Be accountable, innovative, honest, diverse, and influential.
Leadership & Personal Development
  • Lead change and innovation, promote diversity and inclusiveness, drive results, influence IFA commitment, collaborate effectively, and grow talent.
