Job description

A leading provider of advanced drilling solutions to the mining sector is seeking a technically skilled Engineer with a background in automation, instrumentation, or robotics. You will get involved in operating cutting-edge robotic drill rigs and contributing to R&D initiatives that drive innovation and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain robotic drill rigs safely and in line with project and compliance standards.
  • Complete training on control systems, drilling methods, and safety.
  • Work with R&D to support improvements and implement upgrades.
  • Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting to ensure performance.
  • Travel to project sites and engage with stakeholders for technical support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Instrumentation qualification focused on automation and robotics.
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic) is beneficial.
  • Strong technical understanding and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with heavy machinery.
  • Willing to train on robotic drill rigs and travel to remote sites.
  • Able to work independently and in a team, with solid communication skills and safety awareness.

The proposed salary for the role is R55k - R70k CTC per month, but the option remains with the client to offer any market related salary considering the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
