Position Description:

The Bench Tech supports all IPC & PAC technical functions in the Gauteng region, including servicing, fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on all IPC & PAC systems. Maintaining strong customer relations during service intervals and repairs at customer facilities is essential. High efficiency in turnaround times and completing services and repairs is required to improve customer satisfaction and maximize retention.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Service & repair IPC & PAC equipment to full working capacity.
  • Schedule and attend onsite customer services and repairs.
  • Complete job cards for service repairs and warranties.
  • Prepare and track service intervals for IPC & PAC systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues promptly.
  • Plan service trips and address related queries.
  • Provide high levels of service and technical support.
  • Fill out service certifications and ensure software calibrations are updated.
  • Manage stock for repairs and services.
  • Complete warranty repairs and inspection reports.
  • Assist with queries at hospitals and customer sites.
  • Maintain good customer relationships.
  • Complete daily activity reports as required.
  • Maintain company vehicle in good condition and keep records.
  • Follow safety protocols and quality standards.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Available to work night shifts.
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent; tertiary qualification is an advantage.
  • Strong electronic and technical skills.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Excel and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license (Code 08/EB) and at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Ability to work independently, with excellent time management.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Understanding of Arjo products is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and customer service orientation.
  • Organized and punctual.
  • Willing to work overtime and travel nationally as needed.
