Job summary

A leading company in the beverage industry is seeking a Cellar Worker to perform various tasks related to the production of brandies. The role involves physical activities, compliance with safety standards, and effective problem-solving. Candidates must have a minimum Grade 12 qualification and relevant experience in a cellar environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cellar activities and maintain hygiene standards.
• Conduct physical loading and offloading of bulk products.
• Participate in monthly stock takes and compliance with safety standards.

Job description

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• General Cellar activities
• Physical loading and offloading of bulk on site
• Physical blending of all overproof brandies
• Sample drawing of products
• Transfer of raw products and blended products
• Transfer of bulk components for blending
• Despatch of overproof brandies to bottling sites
• Actively participate in monthly stock take
• Preparing of samples for testing and/ or organoleptic assessment
• Execution of daily tasks and activities to achieve departmental targets
• Compliance with the OHS Act standards
• Effective recordkeeping
• Taking up of a tanks
• Maintain cellar hygiene standards
• Drawing and testing of production tank samples
• Apply strict and accurate loss control
• Actively participate in all TPM activities
• Actively participate in effective problem solving

The successful candidate must have the following qualification, experience/skills and attributes:

• Minimum Grade 12
• Working experience in a Cellar environment
• Physically healthy and strong to cope with the physical demands of the position as well as the ability to work at heights
• Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of safety procedures and housekeeping standards
• Willing and able to work extended hours (overtime) when required
• Punctuality and attendance reliability
