Key Functional Areas
Design & Space Planning
- Responsible for space planning, space design, and furniture reconfiguration services according to the Workplace Strategy, including needs analyses with clients.
- Consult with Divisional Head and Senior Interior Designer to determine factors affecting interior environments, such as budget, architectural preferences, purpose, and function.
- Advise on interior factors like space planning, layout, furniture/utilization, and color coordination.
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure project success.
- Manage project finances, including timesheets and monthly claim certificates.
- Calculate space allotment based on the number of employees.
- Develop alternative workspace solutions and modifications prior to interior design.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations for all construction drawings.
- Manage decanting processes during office relocations to minimize business disruption.
Formulate Designs
- Create detailed shop drawings for construction layouts.
- Estimate materials and costs; present designs for approval.
- Coordinate fabrication, installation, and arrangement of furnishings and fixtures.
- Render design ideas through sketches or drawings.
- Use CAD or Revit to produce construction documents.
- Design interior environments for various spaces.
- Measure room dimensions for furniture and equipment placement.
- Work independently and collaboratively within teams.
- Assist with drafting tender proposals.
- Provide high-level client service and maintain effective relationships.
- Stay updated on space planning and interior design methodologies.
Qualification Requirements and Experience
- Grade 12
- BA degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or equivalent
- Minimum 6 years' experience in office or workplace space planning
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
