Are you a sharp-eyed financial professional with a passion for market integrity?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Surveillance Analyst to join a highly respected regulatory team. This role offers the chance to work at the forefront of financial market oversight, identifying market abuse and ensuring trading compliance across multiple asset classes.

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an individual who thrives in a high-responsibility environment and is committed to upholding fair, transparent trading practices. The successful candidate will be instrumental in monitoring JSE-listed securities, performing in-depth investigations, and liaising with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Real-time monitoring and review of trading activity for potential insider trading and market manipulation
  • Conducting detailed profit and loss reviews related to derivative instruments
  • Presenting findings and referrals to the FSCA for further investigation
  • Supporting the optimisation and execution of core surveillance processes
  • Liaising with front office and middle office teams to gather insights

Requirements :

  • A degree in a Financial or Quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Data Analytics)
  • At least 5 years of experience in market surveillance or a related financial compliance role
  • In-depth understanding of derivative pricing and trading dynamics
  • Proven ability to identify suspicious market activity and present clear investigative findings
  • Market surveillance experience from another exchange is highly advantageous
