PMOP provides leadership, direction, and support across Mace client-facing projects in setting up, resourcing, and running project and programme management offices (PMOs) for these client projects.

PMOP is organized as an integrated collection of practices reflecting the different functional disciplines that a PMO typically oversees for major construction projects and programmes, including:

You'll be responsible for:

  1. Supporting stakeholders with identification, clear definition, and prioritization of solution requirements, securing user, project, and programme management sign-off as appropriate.
  2. Creation and refinement of epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  3. Engagement with IT software and service providers, supporting in user acceptance testing, product design, and development to ensure the proposed business solution aligns with end-user needs and business goals.
  4. Developing a strong working knowledge of the client IT environment, business goals, priorities, existing business processes, and system interactions.
  5. Liaising with stakeholders to identify and understand business problems, seeking to 'engineer out' existing limitations, conflicts, and pain points.
  6. Deep-dive investigation of business scenarios through interviews, brainstorming sessions, and requirements elicitation workshops.
  7. Applying analytical tools like gap analysis, SWOT, options analysis, wireframing, and prototyping.
  8. Producing high-quality documentation such as specifications, user guides, testing and training materials, and post-implementation handover documents.
  9. Building relationships and interacting professionally with various stakeholder groups, including executives and subject matter experts.
  10. Consulting with project team members to understand current data management and reporting practices.
  11. Contributing to setting standards and best practices for the business analysis center of excellence.
  12. Supporting the development of resources and materials for the business analysis toolkit.
  13. Establishing and chairing focus/steering groups within client projects where required.
  14. Undertaking smaller project tasks to support overall project success.
  15. Conducting maturity assessments related to IT processes and services.

You'll need to have:

  1. Demonstrable experience as a business analyst across various IT projects.
  2. Formal business analysis certification (e.g., IIBA) desirable.
  3. Project management certifications like PRINCE2, Agile, APM, CAPM are desirable.
  4. Proven track record supporting successful delivery of full project lifecycle IT projects.
  5. Extensive knowledge of IT project management methodologies, including waterfall and agile.
  6. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, MS Project.
  9. Experience in construction sector beneficial.

You'll also have:

  1. Security clearance to work in South Africa.
  2. Work and residency permits for South Africa.
