Job Title: HOT MIX ASPHALT FIELD DENSITY INSPECTOR and HOT MIX ASPHALT QC/QA TECHNICIAN

Company: Quality Control Laboratories, LLC

Location: Project Sites within New York, U.S.A

Job Type: Full-time/Part-Time

Quality Control Laboratories LLC is seeking experienced Inspectors (Full-time and Part-time) for NYCDOT projects under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Engineer.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Engineering (please specify the field)
• NICET II – Asphalt certification and/or NYHMA Field Density and NYHMA QA/QC Certifications
• Current OSHA 30-hour certification
• Active Driver’s License
• Experience with NYC DOT Asphalt paving is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Essential Functions:

1. Inspect and test paving operations in compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards, including using Nuclear Gauge.
2. Prepare and submit daily field inspection reports timely and accurately, notifying of discrepancies as needed.
3. Communicate effectively with project managers, colleagues, and contractors.
4. Utilize computer-based web applications and office software for report completion.
5. Be assigned to various NYC DOT Asphalt paving projects across the five boroughs.

Other Requirements:

• Navigate within the job site to access testing areas, materials, and equipment throughout the shift.
• Lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs, such as Nuclear Gauge equipment.

Salary:

Dependent on experience and qualifications.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
• Holidays, weekends, day and night shifts available
• Overtime as necessary
