Job description

KONE is seeking qualified Maintenance Technicians in Durban, South Africa. Our team comprises maintenance professionals dedicated to providing onsite customer service to ensure the smooth and safe operation of our equipment. We are looking for a service-minded Maintenance Technician to deliver professional elevator and escalator maintenance to our customers.

In this role, you will be a key part of KONE, making a difference in people's lives daily. Your focus will be on ensuring quality service, enhancing equipment safety and performance, and maintaining proactive onsite communication with customers and end-users.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality service and effective communication;
  2. Accurately report work performed in real-time;
  3. Maintain excellent relationships with customers, contact persons, and end-users;
  4. Manage the site environment during service operations;
  5. Identify site risks and communicate any issues promptly;
  6. Perform unplanned service repairs as needed, with proper approvals;
  7. Manage PAR stock levels and ensure timely replenishment;
  8. Submit accurate timesheets for completed work.

Skills & Experience:

  1. Qualifications such as:
  2. Completed NQF level 4 certification with an apprenticeship (minimum 4 years);
  3. Electrical/Mechanical Engineer Diploma/Degree with at least 12 months shadowing a qualified lift mechanic;
  4. Completed NQF level 5 certification with at least 12 months shadowing a qualified lift mechanic;
  5. Good communication skills and basic IT knowledge.
