Position: Warehouse Assistant

The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for general warehousing functions, including loading, off-loading containers, stacking, stock counting, housekeeping, picking & packing, receiving & despatching stock on the system, as well as clerical support to the Operations Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Receiving and Dispatching: Receive products physically and record them in the ERP system. Prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring correct labeling and documentation for local courier and export shipments.
  2. Inventory Management: Conduct regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and manage non-stock items.
  3. System and Data Management: Use an ERP system to manage inventory data, track stock levels, and maintain records and reports using Excel.
  4. Physical Stock Management: Move and organize stock within the store, load and unload shipments using a forklift or physically.
  5. Picking and Packing: Accurately pick and pack orders according to customer specifications, double-check items before dispatch.
  6. Forklift Operation: Operate forklift safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, load, and count inventory in the warehouse.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Valid drivers’ license and Forklift License (or proof of expired license)
Requirements
  • Experience with Lot numbers and Serial Numbers
  • Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing approximately 40kg
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Effective communication via email and Microsoft Teams
  • Availability for outside working hours (overtime, weekends, public holidays)
  • Residing close to Rosslyn
