Job description

Multi-national concern has an opportunity for an experienced candidate with a completed Degree and solid accounting experience to assist with a contract role.

CaseWare experience highly advantageous, as well as previous experience in a similar role.

The role is a Financial Accountant for a 4-month contract to support the finance team with accurate financial processing, reporting, and compliance.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the effective and efficient performance of accounting activities aligned with internal controls and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Accurately process and prepare all financial data up to trial balance level.
  2. Post and review month-end journals and ensure correctness of entries.
  3. Prepare and reconcile General Ledger accounts using Blackline.
  4. Support the regional credit management function by preparing Accounts Receivable reconciliations.
  5. Assist Senior Accountants with monthly and year-end closings.
  6. Perform various reporting duties including:
  • Royalty calculations
  • Month-end sales reports
  • OE Large Projects reporting
  • Fixed asset reporting
  • Weekly cash flow updates
  • Monthly updates to TM1 budget formats compared to actuals
  • Sales budgets / forecasts per product line and branch
  • Update Cognos sheets and ensure cube balancing for monthly and forecast reporting.
  • Ensure full compliance with the monthly finance checklist.
  • Conduct Capex audits and assess project paybacks.
  • Respond to and manage product / branch manager sales reporting queries.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Assist with Compliance Scorecard Self-Assessment testing.
  • Perform any additional finance-related tasks as needed.
  • Requirements:
    • Completed tertiary qualification in finance or accounting.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar financial / accounting role.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience with SAP and CaseWare is essential.
    • Strong knowledge of month-end processes, reconciliations, and reporting tools.
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
