Role Purpose / Business Unit :

The core purpose of the role is to establish and maintain a robust deal creation process, produce relevant A&R policy and governance, and implement into the fixed simplification signature project.

The function will cover trade marketing to define VB Fixed deals and analytics to support decision-making, ensuring a comprehensive approach to market strategy and execution.

The individual will interact with various stakeholders across the Vodacom Business Unit, including EHOD: Fixed Commercial Management and the VB Commercial Team, to manage fixed deals, A&R policy, risk, pricing, and to ensure ongoing product performance and profitability analysis.

The team is strategic, controlling long-term deal structuring, cost efficiencies, profitability, product management, and planning aligned with VB business requirements and pricing functions across VSA. This role supports that function.

Your responsibilities will include :

  1. Assist in developing deal plans and successfully delivering marketing broadsheets.
  2. Ensure definition of A&R strategy and spend aligns with budgets, focusing on overall acquisition and retention spend, and average A&R across channels.
  3. Calculate deals monthly based on performance, device run rate, popularity, competitor deals, and A&R efficiency.
  4. Maintain ARPU by analyzing profitability reports per device and channel for deal calculation.
  5. Develop and implement a deal maker system for daily deal creation, execution, and reporting.
  6. Support Terminal team in channel execution.
  7. Provide profit margin analysis, breaking down income and expenses, with recommendations for optimization to enhance profitability.
  8. Determine and review price elasticity for products and services.
  9. Perform detailed data analysis to inform decision-making, financial models, and business cases, including customer insights and elasticity modeling.
  10. Support ongoing tracking, reporting, and insights on customer, product, and campaign behaviors monthly.
  11. Collaborate with Stakeholders Product EHODS on strategic initiatives and growth drivers.
  12. Work with VB FBP to provide accurate data and financial models for A&R investment and revenue support.

Communication

Ensure high-quality written materials with clear insights and actions for EHOD management. Effectively communicate and present performance to various teams and EHODs.

The ideal candidate will have :

  1. Experience in programming languages such as Python, VB, R, Matlab, etc.
  2. 8-10 years of experience in Commercial, Finance, Analytics, or Pricing roles.
  3. Understanding of pricing strategies and principles.
  4. Mobile communication experience is an advantage.
  5. Proficient SQL skills are essential.
  6. Strong analytical thinking and experience.
  7. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  8. Experience with other coding languages (Python, R, VB) is advantageous.
  9. Reporting and analytical experience is essential.
  10. Understanding of pricing practices and telecoms experience is beneficial.

Additional knowledge in deal making, revenues, costs, profitability, elasticity, and market trends is preferred. Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, and presentation are required.
