Introduction

LabourNet continues to integrate health and safety into our national product offering, and as such, we have an exciting position available for an occupational health and safety consultant based at our Johannesburg North Branch.

This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing consulting company that offers progression and exposure to multiple organizations and industries.

Role Overview

As a health and safety consultant, you will collaborate with management teams from various organizations to systematically implement a health and safety management system. You will support the delivery of SHEQ objectives, be involved in all project stages, and provide regular feedback to clients.

Note: A valid driver's license and own vehicle are essential for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide advice to ensure compliance with OHS legal requirements (OHS Act & Regulations, COIDA, SANS, SABS, etc.) and mitigate operational risks, fines, penalties, or reputational damage.
  • Implement and maintain detailed project plans for each client.
  • Conduct safety audits aligned with industry standards.
  • Prepare and deliver safety files specific to each project.
  • Draft and implement OHS policies, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
  • Conduct incident investigations and report findings to management.
  • Train and upskill client employees to perform inspections and audits regularly.
  • Develop emergency preparedness and response procedures.
  • Establish and facilitate safety committees.
  • Draft and conduct OHS inductions as per client requirements.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

Package & Benefits

Salary: R15,000 - R17,000 CTC per month.
