ROLE OVERVIEW:

Hartree Partners is seeking a highly motivated and experienced legal operations specialist to join our South Africa office on a full-time basis. As the Legal team continues to grow, this role plays a critical part in optimising workflows, improving legal service delivery and ensuring operational excellence in the Legal function.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Support the Global Head of Legal Operations & Technology in enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall functionality of the Legal department.
• Maintain and support implemented legal technology and operations solutions such e-billing, document/knowledge management and contract lifecycle management systems, including collaboration with IT to ensure legal tools are integrated with existing company systems.
• Invoice processing, handling billing related enquiries from vendors and the Legal and CoSec team and generate and maintain budget and spend reports and dashboards.
• Manage the NDA end-to-end workflow.
• Provide training and support to the Legal and CoSec team on technology use.
• Assist Global Head of Legal Operations & Technology across all administrative matters and legal operations and technology related projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Paralegal, diploma or other legal certification from recognised academic institution;
• Experience in legal operations or a similar role within a corporate legal department or law firm (e.g. creating databases of documents/precedents; document organisation) and legal technology tools (such as CLM, matter management systems) is desirable;
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Adobe, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Microsoft 365 is essential; and
• Excellent organisational, coordination and problem-solving skills, with ability to troubleshoot basic I.T. problems.
