Job description

The St Mungo's Pan London Rough Sleeping Teams (No Second Night Out and Somewhere Safe to Stay) provide a rapid response service intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough. Our work is ongoing, and we are currently looking for inspirational people to join our Pan London Assessment, Triages, Staging Post, Accommodation, and Support Hotels across London.

Role: Hub Assistant Worker

The role of a Hub Assistant Worker involves jointly managing the safe day-to-day running of the project with other team members and providing basic support and advice to clients. You will also be the first point of contact for clients and visitors and will coordinate health and safety within the service.

This vital role requires flexibility to work on a weekly rota to ensure services are accessible to those who are homeless at their time of greatest need. Hours are Monday to Friday (7.5 hours per day), with exact shift times to be agreed.

About you

This role suits individuals with experience working in a fast-paced, public-facing environment. You should also have:

  • An understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerable people, including difficulties accessing services, or personal experience of homelessness.
  • Experience managing complex and challenging situations related to people, with basic strategies to handle challenging behavior.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage your own time.
  • Above all, we seek inspirational, committed individuals with a genuine desire to support people in transforming their lives, and a willingness to develop valuable skills to do so.
