Job description

Job Title: PP - Disability Consultant

Location: Sandton

Purpose of the Job: To manage disability claims within client portfolio, perform disability assessments, and consult with clients regarding disability, incapacity, and absenteeism.

Overview:
  1. Manage disability, ill health, and incapacity claims within the client portfolio.
  2. Perform disability assessments.
  3. Liaise with relevant insurers, clients, treating and independent medical professionals.
  4. Compile reports to clients (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually).
  5. Consult with corporate clients on absenteeism, disability, ill health, and incapacity issues.
  6. Ensure client satisfaction with claims management services.
  7. Conduct training sessions and presentations to clients.
  8. Compile trustee reports and present to trustees.
  9. Perform fund analysis and ensure status reports are accurate and sent to clients as required.
  10. Ensure allocated claims meet required standards.
  11. Handle client queries and ensure effective communication with all role players involved in the claims process.
  12. Assist in projects as required and attend all meetings as needed.
  13. Engage in professional development activities (e.g., CPD sessions).
Technical Skills:

Extensive practical experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education and Experience:
  1. BSc Occupational Therapist (or equivalent Bachelor's degree).
  2. 2–3 years clinical experience.
  3. Experience in health risk management or insurance industry is preferable.
  4. Must be registered with HPCSA.
