Job Description

An opportunity for an experienced Head Bakery Confectioner is available for permanent employment based in Newcastle.

Responsibilities
  1. Oversee and manage daily bakery operations within a supermarket environment.
  2. Ensure high-quality production of bakery and confectionery products, including cakes, pastries, bread, chocolate éclairs, and specialty baked goods.
  3. Develop and maintain recipes and ensure consistency in product quality.
  4. Monitor ingredient stock levels, procurement, and supplier relations.
  5. Lead and supervise a team of bakers and assistants, providing training and guidance.
  6. Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality standards.
  7. Innovate and introduce new bakery items to attract customers.
  8. Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring excellent service and fresh products daily.
Requirements
  1. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Bakery Confectioner in a supermarket bakery environment.
  2. Formal baking or pastry qualification is an advantage.
  3. Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and recipe development.
  4. Experience in supervising and managing a bakery team.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and meet daily production targets.
  6. Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality control standards.
  7. Residency in Newcastle is required.
