Job Description

Sovereign Foods is a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces. The Commercial Division seeks an individual for the position of Electrical Technician at their Kariega operations. This position reports directly to the Services Engineer and carries a TASK Grade T13. The successful candidate will be responsible for machinery, plant, and process compliance according to occupational health and safety standards. Candidates must possess an Electrical Engineering tertiary qualification, have at least 8 years of engineering process experience, and 3 years of project management experience. A qualification in Project Management is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general machinery regulation compliance.
• Maintain high standards of quality control on contracts.
• Advise engineering design teams on quality, finish, and compliance standards, considering contract requirements and costs.
• Execute work orders by delegating to team members.
• Ensure all job cards are correctly completed with relevant information before sign-off.
• Adhere to and update schedules for the responsible areas.
• Implement total preventative maintenance methodologies and programs.
• Identify safety-critical preventative maintenance tasks and schedule them accordingly.
• Achieve or improve upon the budgeted production costs.
